Medicare Bulk Billing Update in November
What’s Changing with Medicare?
The Australian Government recently introduced new Bulk Billing Incentive payments to encourage medical practices to offer bulk billing for certain patients.
At clinics able to take up this offer, most standard GP consultations may be fully covered by Medicare — meaning no gap fee for the patient.

We carefully reviewed the program and understand that our community values affordable and accessible healthcare.
At the same time, we know our patients expect comprehensive, high-quality care from their local GP.
Unfortunately, the new incentive payments do not cover the full cost of providing quality healthcare, particularly for longer or more complex consultations.
To ensure we can continue offering the time, care, and attention you deserve, Boddington Medical Centre will continue with our current private billing model, where most consultations attract a gap fee.
This approach allows us to maintain the standard of care and continuity our patients rely on.
